Best Places to see Christmas Lights in Edmonton

Christmas in Edmonton starts as early as the third week of November. There are a few drive-thru holiday decorations as the weather can be as cold as ice.

Here’s my guide to the best places to see Christmas Lights in Edmonton.

1. Candy Cane Lane

  • Drive-thru the Candy Cane Lane
    • The most famous holiday attraction in the city celebrating their 50 year-anniversary
    • Admission is free but you have to bring a food donation for the Edmonton food bank
    • 148th Street from 99th to 92nd avenue
    • December 10 – January 1
    • 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

2. Glow Edmonton

  • It is located at the Expo Centre
    • It is the only indoor light festival in Edmonton.
    • Open from 11 a.m. during weekends
    • 1 p.m. during weekdays until night time
    • 7515 118 Ave. NW Edmonton, AB T5B 4M9
    • November 24 – January 2

3. Luminaria

  • Visit the event at University of Alberta Botanical Garden
    • You can walk thru the beauty of a candle-lit pathway in Kurimoto Japanese Garden with animated light display at Aga Khan Garden
    • They also offer the most famous Northern Light Dinning Experience inside a private dome and a three-course meal

4. Magic of Lights

  • One of the best drive-thru light festival here in the city

5. Zoominescence

  • Visit it at Edmonton Valley Zoo
