Disclaimer: This post is based in my opinion and my past travel experiences.

Golden is a small town in British Columbia, Canada. It is near six national parks namely Mt Revelstoke National Park, Glacier, Yoho, Banff, Kootenay, and Jasper National Park.

I spent one night in Golden and headed straight to Revelstoke the next day. Here’s the three places that you should not miss when you visit Golden, BC!

WHERE TO GO

Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge

Location: 8th Ave N, Golden, BC

This is a nice bridge with a mini garden on the other side of it. It is a great place to take a walk and bring your dogs too.

Golden Skybridge

Location: 503 Golden Donald Upper Rd, Golden, BC V0A 1H0

This is Canada’s newest attraction in Golden, BC. It is also the highest bridge ever made in Canada. There are two bridges with a height of 426 feet from the canyon below. Watch the video to see more!

They also opened the Sky Zipline and Canyon Edge Challenge Course in 2021. Participants must be 8 years and older with a minimum weight of 27 kgs (60lbs). I recommend that you bring snacks and water. They have a park and picnic tables there. Check out their website here.

Northern Lights Wolf Centre

Location: 1745 Short Rd, Golden, BC V0A 1H1

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been a fan of large dogs. I really made sure that I would be able to pass by and visit for an hour or more when I found out about the Northern Lights Wolf Centre. It didn’t disappoint! I arrived after 10 a.m. and our group was the first visitor of the day. There was a 25 minute interpretative presentation about wolves and their importance to our environment.

The wolves were sleeping at that time but when their Alpha, Shelley, came out after the presentation, they ran around their fences which was exciting to see! Shelley fed them their lunch and it was an amazing experience to see it! They also have a Blackwolf Photography Tour where you can walk with the wolves. Doesn’t it sound amazing? I would love to do it but my husband was so scared that I’d be eaten by a wolf. HAHAHA!

WHERE TO STAY

I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Hotel. I always like their free breakfast and comfortable beds.

WHERE TO EAT

I did my research and here are some of my recommendations, in no particular order:

1. Nagomi Sushi – This restaurant is for Japanese lovers 🙂 They have a decent selection of food on the menu.

2. The Wolf’s Den – This restaurant is open at 5 p.m. daily. Their menu is good for families and kids. If you are looking for a unique experience, go there as it is inside a rustic cabin. They also have a patio during summer.

3. Bacchus Books and Cafe – For all the book lovers out there, this cafe is for you! They carry new and used books. They also offer lunch subscriptions and you can online
